Friday 17/4/09

Panic!..I was panicking! I couldn't find my phone anywhere! Nor hear it, after my roommate tried locating it by calling. I was absolutely sure that the battery was still ‘a ok’ and that it was not put in silent mode or anything (dah pon baru top up! :( ).

I was getting ready to go to Cempaka 2 to revise contract with a friend at that precise moment after done doing my ton of laundry. I was packing my backpack when I suddenly realized something was missing…

not expensive, a need, not a luxury

I give up searching in my room; I had a feeling that I had left it in the surau that morning after becoming squatters there since last night with kak Farah and kak Anis .I suddenly remembered the moment when the lights there where turned off, vital point: never consent in turning of the lights before you have actually finished packing your things..

To make the event shorter, I dragged my feet to Cempaka to not keep my friend waiting any longer as I was already quite late ( I went to the surau and then went searching in my room again when my efforts were in vain) -not actually that short is it?-

Shorter? - I arrived and fond her, she asked me on why I didn’t answer her so many phone calls (3 is considered mane ne?). That made me even more worried. I tried to call umi, but she was unreachable (it was a Friday, and she was working thus it was not an appropriate time to call). Abah was next on the call list. I dialed, waited a second or so and was greeted by a familiar voice... (I used my upax sim + my friend’s phone- nasib baik credit upax tak tamat tempoh as other sims does - urgh..how am I supposed to keep this entry short? – I keep including the details in). OK, back to my story, the ‘thief’ um...no…the ‘finder’ of my phone eventually accepted the call, and so began a session of could we meat, and could I have my phone back at this venue and at this time—he replied unconditionally ‘boleh’..

Friday 10.30am, I reached the crime scene with my assistant (cewah,macam ape lak – study revision bertukar ke penggembaraan menjejaki hp yang hilang…jeng3). She went and ‘investigated’ some Indian workers who were having their break. Nope the person we were searching for was not someone among them. He sounded like an Indonesian, so we waited some more. Finally, while sitting and fiddling with kak Anis’s phone, a guy came approaching the surau...without further ado he handed the mobile to me. I was speechless, and totally great full, only two words came out …thank you…thank you...

alhamdullillah..syukur kerana menemuinya kembali...

P/s: my mom called latter on and said..."mungkin sebab tertinggal dalam surau lah dapat balik, mungkin dia takut pemilaik dia doa ke, solat hajat ke". i just smilled to myself, and thought really?
